Handwriting recognition (HWR) works on ink stroke information from the pen, rather than the pixel information used by optical character recognition (OCR). That makes the handwriting translation process more accurate and immune to smudges, wrinkles and ink contrast problems.
Data quality is very high: business rules about the data format are embedded in the form and used by the HWR process, ensuring a very high data quality. For example a “vehicle number” field on a form should only contain valid vehicle IDs; FullCircle SmartForms will feed the list of valid numbers to the HWR software (no network connection required). Data format business rules are automatically extracted from your existing database structures and can be automatically updated as your business changes.
End users are given the means to process their form data all the way into your database. Errors can be corrected by the person who completed the form, rather than a data entry person or IT personnel doing a batch upload of data files.
