RADE

RADE (Rapid Application Development Environment) is an Enterprise Information Integration platform used in ChasmTech solutions that require connectivity to back-end databases. Tapping into the information inside databases throughout your organization without touching the production applications that produce and consume the data is possible. Sure you could use one of the major database vendors’ business intelligence platforms to do the same thing, but you’d have to standardize on database technology and have very clear and funded business needs to do that.

What if you wanted to take a look at all that data to build a business case for a new application? What if you just wanted to look at all the data just in case there are some hidden pearls that could save you money? What if your data lived in departments that are using different data formats?

RADE is the platform for you. Deployed as an application running inside Microsoft Internet Information Server and connecting to data sources using native and ODBC connections using standard security and authentication mechanisms, RADE is lightweight yet powerful.

Optimized for spatially referenced data, RADE-powered web applications let users visualize and analyze complex data relationships.

Using maps to display and select data points is the most natural interface for field data; but not every department can justify the costs of a GIS to make their data available in this format.

RADE lets you display any data containing spatial coordinates on a map, and it supports queries and reports that let your users access related data using simple map-based selection tools.

RADE has been deployed as the platform for crime report mapping, giving mobile police officers access to crime mapping reports by combining property records and crime report databases. Oil and gas customers are using RADE to tie public county property records, lease operating statements from accounting software and survey records together, giving their field personnel instant access to all the data they need to stake a well.

Our guys use it 24/7, 365 days a year. All our non-technical users use RADE for data mining, for example to find all leases that expire in 2010 for a given county. We can give contractors secure access to maps through RADE. Even our field operations, whenever they want to stake a well, they go into RADE, find the map with the proposed location from the seismic survey and later update it with the actual location. The mapping and permit guys get an email about this activity and go do their thing. -- IT manager for Oil & Gas customer

It is also being used as the platform for custom applications such as FloorView, a browser-based disaster management system giving fire fighters, EMS and police officers access to floor plans and mechanical and plumbing details in the field.
